Battery partner with three PDL clubs for 2017

The Charleston Battery have partnered with three PDL sides for 2017. The Myrtle Beach Mutiny, Georgia’s Tormenta FC and the Tri-Cities Otters from Tennessee.
The partnership comes after the USL was granted Division 2 status in the US Soccer Pyramid for the new season and is viewed as a chance to expand the club’s scouting network, with each club expected to send two players to next week’s open trials, lasting from 1/27-1/28
Myrtle Beach Mutiny were founded in 2011, originally as an NPSL club, and won two conference championships while in the league, while they, along with the other two clubs, will play in the South Atlantic division for the 2017 PDL season.
Tormenta FC, from South Georgia, were founded in 2015, playing their first season in the PDL in 2016. A group of fans from the Tri Cities Otters will be down in Charleston during the 2017 Carolina Challenge Cup next month.
In addition to scouting, the Battery will partner with the PDL clubs for Youth Camps, Merchandise sales, Ticket sales, and more for the new year.
The Battery’s new partnerships will hopefully boost the club’s network and exposure on and off the pitch, with the three new PDL clubs as well as MLS’s Atlanta United.
