Zeiko Lewis is the newest name to be added to the 2019 Charleston Battery roster.
Lewis, having spent time in Iceland with two different clubs, was selected 17th overall by the New York Red Bulls in 2017, where he helped New York Red Bulls II reach the conference final in 14 starts with 23 chances created, scoring 2 goals.
Lewis can play as a midfielder or a forward, but seems most comfortable on the wing. The options allow coach Mike Anhaeuser a chance to potentially open up play wide a little bit more after the use of inverted forwards last year, and after solid campaigns for both Kotaro Higashi and Nico Rittmeyer, competition for places will keep everybody fresh and hungry over the course of the season.
The Battery roster now stands at 14 players. Trials are now underway, and you can see the state of the roster in preseason, which starts on February 10 against the College of Charleston
