Jarad van Schaik returns for 2020

2019 vice captain Jarad van Schaik will return to the Charleston Battery for the 2020 USL Championship season.

The news will come as welcome to fans of the Black and Yellow, as van Schaik was named the team’s 2019 MVP, having made 32 starts in the season past, and leading the team in multiple categories.

Van Schaik was also deployed in several positions last year, most notably at left back before finishing the season at center back due to an injury list that hampered the Battery for the entire season, versatility which is key to any club aiming for big things, while also providing leadership, as 2020 will be his sixth year in Black and Yellow across two stints with the club.

Earning two team of the week nominations, Van Schaik also provided two of the Battery’s best goals in 2019, both coming in a brace against Nashville SC, which you can watch below:
