Battery to welcome Philadelphia II in 2020 Home Opener

The Charleston Battery will begin their new era at Patriot’s Point as they ended their time at MUSC Health Stadium, welcoming Philadelphia Union II, formerly the Bethlehem Steel, to open their 2020 season.
This news comes after the USL Championship announced their slate of home openers for the new campaign, with the fixture set for March 28th.
The Battery were 5-0-2 (W-L-T) all time against Bethlehem, most notably closing their chapter at MUSC Health Stadium with an emphatic 5-1 win that clinched the club’s 12th consecutive playoff berth at the end of 2019.
Now as Philadelphia Union II, the two clubs are both embarking on new journeys in 2020, making this an eye popping fixture in the opening slate of matches.
The full schedule has yet to be announced, but the release of the Home Openers always precedes the full schedule’s release, and is used to whet supporter’s whistles ahead of the wider release, which can now be expected within the next few weeks.
Fans are encouraged to join the Black and Yellow to begin their new era at Patriot’s Point as they continue to grow and build on their storied history, and with today’s release, we finally know what that first step will be.
