Robbie Crawford joins Battery for 2020

The Charleston Battery have announced the signing of Scottish midfielder Robbie Crawford, who spent 2019 with Finnish side IFK Mariehamn, pending league and federation approval.
The 26 year old is the Battery’s first signing to be announced outside of returning players, beginning his career at Rangers FC, making 45 league appearances after making his way through the academy, before leaving for Raith Rovers and then East Kilbride, joining FH in Iceland before moving to his former side IFK last campaign.
Crawford will get his first chance at action in Black and Yellow tomorrow as the Battery begin preseason in Florida against Minnesota United.
A midfielder, Crawford is the latest Scotsman to join the Battery, following Nicki Paterson, who won the club’s latest league title in 2012, so he comes in with some big shoes to fill.
The Battery’s league campaign begins on March 8th with a trip to Atlanta United II. Their home campaign begins against Philadelphia Union II on March 28th
