Gdula is Battery’s 3rd New 2020 arrival

Defender Logan Gdula is the latest to join the Charleston Battery ranks for 2020.
The Black and Yellow’s third new signing ahead of the 2020 campaign was originally drafted out of Wake Forest, where he appeared in the College Cup Final, by former rivals FC Cincinnati upon their arrival in MLS, but has USL experience following loans from FCC to Phoenix Rising FC and Hartford Athletic.
Mostly deployed as a full back, Gdula racked up 15 league appearances for Hartford in 2019, scoring one goal. The signing gives the Battery depth in a position that was mostly filled by natural midfielder Jarad van Schaik last year, as competition for places can only be a good thing.
The Battery will continue their pre-season preparations with a match against the Greenville Triumph on Saturday, February 15. They begin their USL Championship campaign away from home against Atlanta Atlanta United II on March 8, while their home opener is against Philadelphia Union II, on March 28.
