Battery sign Goalkeeper Darian McCauley to First Professional Contract

Goalkeeper Darian McCauley is the Battery’s latest signing ahead of the 2020 season, having earned his first professional contract.

McCauley played all four years of his college career at Millersville University, keeping 22 clean sheets and only conceding an average of 1.21 goals per game on the way to two conference championship appearances in his four years at the school, winning one.

The signing is one that was expected for the Battery, after the departure of Joe Kuzminsky, with the Black and Yellow having a history of rotating their goalkeepers over the last few years, which will no doubt give McCauley hope of playing his first professional game sooner rather than later.

The Black and Yellow close out their preseason against Tormenta this Friday, February 28. They then open their regular season campaign with a trip to Atlanta United II. Their home opener will be three weeks later on March 28 against Philadelphia Union II
