Battery to Play First Two Games Behind Closed Doors

The Charleston Battery have announced that they will play their first two home games of the USL Season’s restart behind closed doors.
The Black and Yellow will continue play in Group H, facing the Tampa Bay Rowdies and Miami FC four times each, while their 1-0 win over Atlanta United 2 will count as a game played and three points in the restart standings.
The decision comes as no surprise as all four cities are or have previously experienced a hotspot during the Coronavirus pandemic, and the four teams will travel back and forth between the cities frequently during this shortened regular season.
The team will re-examine the situation following the first two fixtures. As such, BYP readers are strongly urged to follow guidelines, such as washing hands and wearing masks, to help ensure the safety of those around you and the possibility of seeing the Black and Yellow in their new home at Patriots’ Point in 2020.
