USL Championship sets provisional return for July 11th

After playing just one game before the Coronavirus enforced the suspension of league play, the USL Championship has announced a provisional return date of the 11th of July.

The news also comes with a reminder that the league has not yet decided on its best course of action in regards to format, scheduling, broadcasting and more, both the league and the Players’ Association have said that this is a positive step forward in the way back to players being on the pitch in 2020.

The Battery played their first game of the 2020 season back on March 8th, meaning this provisional start date will be a full four months after that first game, when under normal circumstances, the season would be in full swing.

Assuming the season resumes in normal format, the Battery will next face the Birmingham Legion.
